VIDEO: INTERVIEW – Emei Says EP ‘Rabbithole’ Influenced by Alice in Wonderland, Talks Sabrina Carpenter

Rising alt-pop singer/songwriter Emei released her latest single “Crazy Stupid Love” just as she wrapped up her European tour and headed to the start the U.S. leg. The tour is in support of her latest EP, ‘RABBITHOLE’, which was released late last year to much anticipation. “This entire EP, Rabbithole, was inspired by my anxiety and panic attacks, descending through the pressures of young adult life around love, friendship, and career pressures as well, and mostly the pressure I put on myself,” Emei stated. “This project was heavily inspired by the world of Alice in Wonderland, emulating each scene through the classic story.” Raised in New Jersey, Emei saw her profile rise while still in college after going viral on TikTok with “Late To The Party”.

Emei speaks with B-Sides host Pete Mar about her tight relationship with her growing fanbase and how her latest EP ‘Rabbithole’ was influenced by Alice in Wonderland and animated series. She speaks about her musical theater background, how Sabrina Carpenter’s live shows give her inspiration and more.
