Fresh off the release of her debut album “Everything and Nothing” on Oct. 4th, Kylie Spence is going out screaming. Self-described as “a vessel,” Spence’s storytelling is honest – and almost uncomfortable in the intimacy it brings the listener. “Everything and Nothing” cycles through themes of fear and womanhood (often intertwining the two), as well as the intricate confusion of entering early adulthood.
The 23-year-old artist who was living in Montana and is now based in Nashville, has been creating music since she was 12 years old. Her journey began with school talent shows and open mic nights, and has since taken her around the world, opening for platinum-selling artists.
Kylie Spence spoke with B-Sides host Pete Mar about making her debut album, the ex-boyfriend who rated her physical appearance negatively, how Montana inspired her art and more.
