The Last Dinner Party burst onto the music scene with the song “Nothing Matters” in 2023 and haven’t looked back. The band proceeded to release other songs throughout the year, including “Sinner” and “My Lady of Mercy”, all ahead of the eventual release of their debut album ‘Prelude To Ecstasy’ in February 2024. The build-up was gratifying for fans across the globe, as those in Europe were privileged to witness their engaging live performances before the band hit North America this year. The five piece from England consists of Abigail Morris (vocals), Aurora Nishevci (keys), Emily Roberts (lead guitar/flute), Georgia Davies(bass) and Lizzie Mayland (guitar), who formed in 2020 during the pandemic while still in university. With many of the songs on the album having been written during this time, the band notes that the reaction from fans still resonate with them, as Morris stated, “I think even though lyrically most of the songs are from a long time ago, at a different period, every time we play them they still feel brand new.” She continued, “I feel like we’re not tired of them yet especially even ‘Nothing Matters’ which we’ve played the most. I think every time you see new people interacting with it and how it touches certain people and how people respond to us every time, it gives it a new life.” The band will be on the road touring Europe in September after having wrapped up their North American tour.
