The artist, who also performs as Alison Wonderland, made her official live debut at Coachella 2023 on the same day as the release of her album, ‘GENESIS’. The music is inherently darker and while Whyte Fang was the moniker used many years before. During our interview with the artist at Bonnaroo, she described the music as “a lot more industrial, my vocals aren’t really on it,” while also noting that “I’m a giver. I get joy giving things to people and experiences. I love having people forget about their phones for a second and all that kind of stuff, so to me this is something I’m really proud of because it feels like an art installation.” The live performance at Bonnaroo showcased a couple of unreleased tracks and was heavy on the visuals and lighting while the artist is set in a cage. Whyte Fang will be performing at at the Exit Festival in Serbia July 14th and at Lollapalooza August 4th.
Whyte Fang spoke with B-Sides host Pete Mar at Bonnaroo 2024 about the live performance, how the music on the project differs from that of her work as Alison Wonderland, motherhood and more.
