Seventeen years in as a band and The Maine has continued to grow and evolve. This has been evident with last year’s self-titled release and the ‘Sweet Sixteen’ tour this past fall that celebrated their sixteen years together. Collaborations with Beach Weather, Misterwives, Charlotte Sands and others have resonated with a new generation of fans for the Arizona band that continues to sell out shows and tour throughout the world. Working with others on material was something the band evolved into as the band’s frontman, John O’Callaghan shared, “It took us a while to get from the state of being very closed off to the idea of collaboration. It took us a while to figure out our songwriting approach and then to get comfortable with the idea of how to approach a song, how do others approach it and how would others, like how would Charlotte, sound on this. In that we find people that we have a lot of respect for and then we grow from that.” The Maine is currently on the road as one of the headliners of the ‘Sad Summer’ Festival with Mayday Parade, The Wonder Years, We The Kings and others.
