Breakthrough guitarist, songwriter and bandleader Grace Bowers returned to her San Francisco Bay Area roots over the Memorial Day weekend to perform at the Bottlerock Napa Valley Music Festival. Originally from the nearby suburb of Danville, Bowers was inspired to play as a youth, when she saw legendary guitarist Slash in the music video for “Welcome to the Jungle” by Guns N’ Roses. However, it wasn’t until she and her family moved to Nashville during the pandemic that sparked a drive in pursuing music seriously ever since. She would upload videos of her guitar-playing online during the time when no live shows were going on and gained an immediate following. Eventually, Bowers went on to perform at local venues and bars to hone her guitar work and garnered much critical acclaim. It was during this time that she would meet other musicians that were eager to work with her, and would eventually become her band The Hodge Hodge. Bowers recently released her debut single, “Tell Me Why U Do That,” with her band The Hodge Podge last month to high praise. Bowers is confirmed to make her debut performance on the legendary Grand Ole Opry on her eighteenth birthday, July 30, 2024.
