Singer-songwriter Em Beihold is currently on her debut headlining tour throughout the U.S. fresh on the heels of the release of her much-anticipated new single “Maybe Life Is Good” out now via Moon Projects/Republic Records. The mid-tempo song is an optimistic take on life amidst as she urges, “Maybe take a breath, maybe do it twice, I know you’re in pain, but that’s a part of life…and maybe life is good.” Speaking to the origins of the song, Beihold shared, “I was in a bit of a low point last yea. I was struggling to connect with myself and the things that make me feel the best. Writing ‘Maybe Life Is Good’ was like writing a life vest out of my situation. It’s optimistic, but there’s a little skepticism with the word ‘Maybe’. It’s just real.” The song is part of a string of singles she’s released over the last few months, as Beihold took time to process the newfound attention and success of going viral with her debut hit single “Numb Little Bug” in 2022. She would go on to perform festivals, on television programs and notably, joined Stephen Sanchez for the duet version of “Until I Found You,” reeling in billions of streams.
Em Beihold spoke with B-Sides host Pete Mar about her first headlining tour, how she’s been handling the overnight success after going viral on TikTok and more.
