Ringing in 2024 at Countdown NYE was one of the most exciting and fun events in Southern California over the weekend. The two-day event took place at NOS Events Center in San Bernardino and featured a bevy of amazing performances across multiple stages that included Tiësto, deadmau5, Alison Wonderland, The Chainsmokers, SOFI TUKKER, FISHER, Nicole Moudaber and many others. Counting down into the new year on ‘The Mothership’ stage, Porter Robinson had the crowd absolutely hyped with all the feels during his epic DJ set, while Ray Volpe had a wild crowd head-banging into 2024 on the ‘Area 51’ stage. Seven Lions had a phenomenal set filled with bangers and amazing visuals filled with lasers and lights. Other highlights included Alison Wonderland’s return to Countdown who put on a killer set filled with good vibes, as was Audien whose feel-good set was banger after banger. deadmau5 had an exciting set that had the packed audience dancing and fist-pumping while getting them hyped when he put on his trademark black mouse-head for a portion of the set. The Chainsmokers were engaging and energetic they threw it down with a mix of their own music, trap, dubstep and remixes. Kayzo brought the house down in the ‘Nebula’ tent with dubstep that was just as melodic as it was aggressive at times which fit the mood of genuine excitement and release of energy by attendees.
Thankfully, any rain that was predicted had already fallen during the day and the weather was dry but cool for both days. The outfits by the attendees were on point, with many creatively dressing up to fit the galactic alien theme. There were lots of LED and fire art installations, as well as aliens and other beings wandering the grounds. The ‘Restricted Area’ was filled with aliens dancing in interacting with the crowd which caught some off-guard and made for a unique experience. With amusement park rides and games to go along with the experience, Countdown NYE had plenty of options for attendees to take a break from the music and reset. Overall, Countdown NYE was a great way to usher in the new year with great performances, good vibes and truly unique environment that many will remember.
