Legendary producer/DJ Four Tet performed a special open to close set at the Cow Palace in San Francisco on Halloween weekend. Many in attendance were dressed up in their finest and most creative costumes, ranging from disco Stormtroopers, Where’s Waldo, and of course many Barbies and Kens, inspired by this year’s movie release. It was a great complement to the set by Four Tet, who by all accounts, took advantage of the extended set to dig deep in playing some amazing tracks including “Execution” by Champion, “Baby again..” a collaboration between himself with Fred again.. and Skrillex and “Strobe” by deadmau5 amongst others. Put on by the DoLab, who also put on Lightning in a Bottle, the dance area setup was very much inspired by the Woogie stage at that festival with radiant elongated neon pipe sculptures hanging from the ceiling which illuminated various colors throughout the night and accompanied at times by mesmerizing lasers. Other standout tracks played included “Swerve” by Anthony Naples, “pink ring” by Jay Orbison and “Rituals” by Shane Fontane but it was his midnight mix that included “Salad Days” by Minor Threat and “Lose You To Love Me” by Selena Gomez that had crowds in awe. With so many bangers played throughout the set in an environment that was filled with positivity and chill vibes, Four Tet put on a stunning set that ended with a drum and bass breakdown that left many wanting more.
