One of the most prominent names in dance music, John Summit, has been on a roll in 2023, performing at numerous high profile festivals and most recently, performed a back-to-back set with fellow Chicagoan Kaskade at HARD Summer. His rapid rise has taken him all over the world and most recently, the 29-year-old producer/DJ announced his first headlining stadium show at BMO Stadium in Los Angeles set to take place on December 16th. Summit dropped a new single in collaboration with Hayla earlier this year called “Where You Are”, which he describes as a song that “encapsulates the feeling of longing. When you’re alone at night tossing and turning wondering about the other person and if they’re alone, or with someone else, or missing you, unable to sleep too. Hoping that your bond is strong enough to pull you back together and wondering if they ever feel as good alone or with someone else as they do when they’re with you. The deep down feeling … I wanna be where you are,” Summit explained. Aside from being one of the top touring artists in dance music in 2022, Summit also runs his own label, Off The Grid — a forward thinking brand that is becoming one of the most culturally relevant hubs in house and techno music.
John Summit spoke with B-Sides about performing at HARD Summer for the first time, plans for new music and touring later this year and more.
