Emerging artist d4vd is currently on the tail-end of his summer tour dates in support of his debut EP ‘Petals to Thorns’. The shows on his tour have drawn much interest, with many sold-out including his show in San Francisco, CA on 7/25. The crowd was predominantly filled with younger fans, many who were on summer vacation from high school or college. The singalongs were strong right from the start of the show as d4vd opened with “You & I” from the EP, and continued with “Bleed Out” where d4vd’s vocals really shined, as well as the upbeat “WORTHLESS”. The crowd was engaged throughout the set, getting exceptionally loud during the more recent viral track, “Here With Me” and “Poetic Vulgarity”.
There were new songs sprinkled in throughout the set including “Rehab” that sounded like it was crafted during the same time as many of the EP’s songs. “Notes Wrote From Your Wrist” was another unreleased track that the Houston native performed and evoked many phone lights to light up as the audience swayed.
Wrapping up the night with his breakthrough, “Romantic Homicide”, d4vd ended his set with the audience singing louder than they had all night. The backing band was tight throughout the night and d4vd not only put on a great show, but also frequently acknowledged the fans in between songs who were left with wanting more by the end of the night.
