Long Beach trio Younger Hunger (Tony Davia, Lucas Connor, and Becket Edwards) formed in 2014, taking their inspirations from bands like The Smiths, MGMT and The Teenagers. With millions of views on TikTok, Younger Hunger are a “force of chaos and destruction” (according to their FB page). Younger Hunger released their single “Second Best” late last year and it’s starting to garner much attention on streaming platforms. Davia adds about the song, “it’s about unrequited love and overcoming feelings of inadequacy.” This synthy indie-pop gem strikes hard with their punchy hooks, melodic guitar, and ambient electronics that create a vibrant tempo.
