The twentieth anniversary of the Edwardian Ball was night to remember as the annual tribute to the late, great author and illustrator Edward Gorey took place over the course of two days in San Francisco. Billed as night of elegance and celebration of art, music, theatre and fashion, there was also the annual re-imagining of “The Lost Lions”. The event has grown over the past twenty years from its days as an underground club party, as the event was packed on both nights by a crowd that spanned attendees of all ages who dressed in Gorey-inspired outfits that ranged from the classic Victorian period to the steampunk macabre. There was more than enough to stimulate the mind and imagination as the event took over all three floors of the Regency Ballroom, each dedicated to music, performances by numerous acts including Vau de Vire Society and a showcase for vendors and art.
