June marks National Pride Month for the LGBTQ community! We acknowledge out-spoken and open individuals especially musical artists who identify themselves in the group. These artists are coming out and singing about their personal experiences about their sexuality through music. While The Drums and Japanese House are writing about their exes, MNEK is singing about a closeted relationship in “Girlfriend”, Morgxn writing about hope within gay oppression, and the queer trio MUNA whose music is a safe haven for those afraid to fully express themselves. They’re all becoming a voice to the present and future LGBTQ generation. They’re musical role models changing more than an industry, but society as a whole. Here’s a playlist to celebrate Pride love and equality!
