The Aces much anticipated debut album, When My Heart Felt Volcanic is set to be released via Red Bull Records on April 6th. The full-length has been in the making for some time as the quartet most recently released their EP, I Don’t Like Being Honest. Consisting of sisters Cristal Ramirez(lead vocals/guitar) and Alisa Ramirez(drums) and childhood friends McKenna Petty(bass) and Katie Henderson(guitar), the band formed in 2008 in Provo, Utah, initially known as The Blue Aces. The group started at a young age performing at school rallies and events, eventually elevating to city events and local venues. The band built a solid buzz in their local music scene and were listed on the “Top 10 Best Bands in Provo” by Provo Buzz and “10 Best Utah Bands You Should Know” by Paste Magazine. Having just completed their first North American tour with COIN, The Aces are currently on a headline tour throughout the UK and Europe and will come back to the U.S. to tour with X Ambassadors.
The Aces took time to perform “Fake Nice” acoustic and to talk about their formation, the work that went into the debut album and more. Check out the interview:
