After some time away from the public eye, Kimbra released a couple of tracks in late 2017 “Everybody Knows” and “Top Of The World”(co-produced by Skrillex) that are from her third full-length album, Primal Heart, which is out April 20, 2018 via Warner Bros. Records. Having moved to New York City from Los Angeles a couple of years ago, the native New Zealander, Kimbra also worked with other producers in Los Angeles and New Zealand. Her voice is no stranger to many, as she’s recognized for her duet with Gotye on “Somebody That I Used to Know,” which garnered “Record of the Year” and “Best Pop Duo/Group Performance” at the 2013 Grammy Awards. Moreover, she made history by becoming the third New Zealand singer to win a Grammy. Kimbra took time to talk to B-Sides about her experiences living in New York, participating in her first political march, writing the album and more. Check out the interview:
