2016 was a breakthrough year for the electronic duo who goes by Bob Moses. Their debut album, Days Gone By, garnered critical acclaim and led to performances at SXSW and the summer festival circuit, with performances at Coachella, Governors Ball, Glastonbury, Lollapalooza and most recently, Austin City Limits. Bob Moses is comprised of Tom Howie and Jimmy Vallance, who grew out of the underground electronic dance scene, playing in abandoned Brooklyn warehouses and as part of the Marcy Hotel collective alongside the likes of Soul Clap, Wolf + Lamb and Nicolas Jaar. The duo owe their moniker to Francis Harris (DJ/producer and co-founder of tastemaker label Scissor & Thread) after “urban planner” Robert Moses. Their name is a testament to the pair’s DNA being very much entrenched in NYC, where they currently reside.
Bob Moses spoke with B-Sides On-Air during their appearance at Austin City Limits about their touring experiences, plans for their next record and more. Check out the interview:
