Catfish and the Bottlemen made quite a splash with their debut album, The Balcony in late 2014. The Welsh band didn’t take long to follow it up with their sophomore release, The Ride, which was released in May 2016. According to lead singer and songwriter, Van McCann, the topics were inspired by experiences of managing life and relationships while on the road, making the writing process quicker than the previous works. As much as their recorded material has garnered a growing and loyal fanbase, the live shows that Catfish and the Bottlemen put on are just as memorable. McCann stated, “Our live shows are about the moment, just getting lost in the music. Make people dance and make people feel. My whole night is based around that, the lights going off and people screaming. I get onstage, see everyone’s faces and something clicks in me and I just go.”
