Swedish trio Peter Bjorn and John have returned after a five year hiatus with the upcoming release of their seventh full-length studio album, Breakin’ Point, out through their own imprint INGRID and Kobalt Label Services. On Breakin’ Point the band had the opportunity to work with an impressive group of producers including Patrick Berger (Icona Pop, Robyn), Paul Epworth (Florence And The Machine, U2, Paul McCartney), Greg Kurstin (Sia, Adele), Emile Haynie (Lana Del Rey, FKA Twigs, Kanye West), Pontus Winnberg (Miike Snow) and Thom Monahan (Wild Nothing, Devendra Banhart). Ten years ago the band found success with the addictive “Young Folks” and have since released music that was just as catchy including “Nothing to Worry About”, “Dig A Little Deeper” and “Second Chance”. The band is currently touring worldwide ahead of the June 10th album release, including dates in North America, Europe and the UK.
B-Sides On-Air host, Pete Mar, spoke with Peter Bjorn and John about the process of recording with multiple producers on the album, bringing back the whistling in the title track and more. Check out the interview:
