San Francisco-based band HEARTWATCH is just as captivating to see perform live as it is to listen to their recorded material. The five-piece originally formed as The Tropics in 2012 and were gaining momentum surrounding the release of their debut EP, Wind House in 2014 until they were forced into a name change when notified that London producer, Chris Ward, had been performing as Tropics prior to their formation. Taking a name from one of their unreleased songs, Heartwatch was adopted as their new name and the band didn’t missed a beat. Heartwatch performed an energetic set to solid and enthusiastic crowd as they celebrated the release of their self-titled debut LP during last week’s Noise Pop Festival. Heartwatch will be touring the West Coast in March with The Flavr Blue and will be playing the BottleRock Festival in Napa, CA.
B-Sides On-Air caught up with Heartwatch prior to their Noise Pop performance to talk about their origins, their debut release and they were gracious enough to perform “Fireproof” for us too! Check out the videos below:
