The 1975 have been on a mini-U.S. tour throughout the month of December as they debut a handful of songs from their forthcoming album, I Like It When You Sleep For You Are So Beautiful Yet So Unaware Of It. The album is slated to be released on February 26, 2016 and is the follow-up to their highly successful self-titled debut in 2013. The 1975 have spent the last week of their tour before the holidays on the West Coast that wraps up in Seattle, WA. Performing at the Fox Theater in Oakland, CA, B-Sides was on-site to catch The 1975, which featured a setlist consistent with other cities- mostly tracks from their debut sprinkled in with songs from the new album, including the current single, “Love Me”, “The Sound”, “Change of Heart”, “She’s American” and “Somebody Else”. Sporting a new hairstyle, lead singer Matty Healy provided strong vocals and was energetic throughout the set, engaging the audience to put down their phones at one point and urged them to live in the moment. The crowd overwhelming complied and although phones came back out later on throughout the night, it was clear their fans were more than ecstatic the band was back. The 1975 will hit the road for an extensive tour in 2016 in support of the new album.
