Phoebe Ryan got quite the buzz in early 2015 with her hybrid-cover of R. Kelly’s “Ignition” and Miguel’s “Do You,” which garnered millions of views/plays via various social platforms. The NYU graduate broke into the record business as a songwriter, working with rapper Skizzy Mars and a wide spectrum of artists including EDM stalwarts Tritonal. Born and raised in the small New Jersey beach/fishing village of Sea Bright, Ryan moved to Los Angeles to focus on her career as a performer and songwriter. Her tour dates included a West Coast tour with The Knocks and various festival stops over the summer that included Bonnaroo in Manchester, TN and the Firefly Music Festival in Dover, DE. Ryan recently released her debut EP, Mine, via Columbia Records.
B-Sides On-Air met up with Phoebe Ryan during her tour stop opening for Say Lou Lou in San Francisco. B-Sides host, Pete Mar, spoke with Ryan about her start in the music business, her initial fear of singing in front of her parents, songwriting and more!
