The electro-pop band Phases formed with a renewed sense of purpose and direction from their previous incarnation as JJAMZ. The Los Angeles-based band comprised of Z Berg (The Like), Jason Boesel (Rilo Kiley/Bright Eyes), Alex Greenwald (Phantom Planet), and songwriter Michael Runion, have been making music together since 2009 when JJAMZ formed. The band took a moment to reset after agreeing that JJAMZ had run its course before being pulled back together by Greenwald’s experimental solo recordings made in his Laurel Canyon living room on an outdated version of GarageBand. With the collection of upbeat, danceable songs, Phases have garnered attention with the lead track, “I’m In Love With My Life” and will release their debut album, For Life, on September 18, 2015.
