UK talent Jack Garratt got exposed to music before he was even born. Garrett’s mother worked as a music teacher and his father taught guitar, so it was natural that he gain an affinity for performing. Garratt worked on his music throughout his youth, learning new instruments, performing in a junior song contest as a teenager and would gain the attention of legendary producer Rick Rubin who had heard his music. Now on a major label, Garratt has released a couple of EPs and is currently on tour performing to a growing fanbase eager for more.
B-Sides On-Air host, Pete Mar, met up with Garratt before his show at the Independent in San Francisco. Garratt covered a range of topics including his early songwriting days as a teen(which would be intended to impress girls), his observations of San Francisco and more.
