2014 has been a great year for Phantogram as the duo garnered much-deserved exposure from their latest album, “Voices”. The band from upstate New York released their debut album, “Eyelid Movies” in 2009 on Barsuk Records and garnered much acclaim and a rapidly growing fan base. The buzz caught the attention of many a major label and Phantogram eventually signed with Republic. The band’s standout track, “Mouthful of Diamonds” was a fan favorite amongst many and was used in various commercials. It was this exposure that caught the attention of Outkast rapper, producer, Big Boi, who heard the band on a video that was playing while surfing the internet. The trio formed a friendship and bond that led to Phantogram being featured on three tracks on his solo album, “Vicious Lies and Dangerous Rumors” in 2012.
B-Sides On-Air met up with Phantogram during Austin City Limits 2014 where the duo spoke with host, Pete Mar, about their usual haunts in Austin, working with Big Boi and more!
