Starting his musical career back in 2003, Magnus August Hoiberg better known as his DJ/producer name Cashmere Cat, has recently released his 5th EP Wedding Bells this past February. Cashmere Cat gained popularity in the electronic music world back in 2012, after remixing edits for big name artists such as Lana Del Rey, 2 Chainz, and Jeremih. His mixing style has been categorized as a combination of R&B, futuristic hip hop, bass, and dance. In 2013 his track “Mirror Maru” featured on the same titled 2012 EP, was featured in the popular video game Grand Theft Auto V soundtrack. During that summer Cashmere Cat moved from his home country of Norway to Manhattan, NY and currently works with Maroon 5, Wiz Kahlifa, and Jeremih as well as producers Benny Blanco and LidoLido. His new track “Wedding Bells” featured on the same titled EP, starts off as a broken sounding track with different types of percussion and voice distortion being used with electronic beats. The song creates a dreamlike effect with its use of classical instruments such as piano, and minimal use of vocals and lyrics. Wedding Bells is currently available for streaming on Spotify and iTunes.
