Originally from the electronic duo The Tough Alliance, is solo Swedish electropop artist Eric Berglund and his new music project known as ceo. Berglund and childhood friend Henning Furst created The Tough Alliance in 2003 and released a total of three EPs and three full-length albums with the band. Their live performances received much backlash from the media, stating the band glorified violence due to a recent show in Stockholm, in which they swung a baseball bat on stage! Berglund began ceo in April of 2010 yet continues to perform with The Tough Alliance, although he stated in an interview with Swedish newspaper Göteborgs-Posten, “The Tough Alliance was a stepping stone in my career, I’m ready to make something new with ceo.” He released his debut album White Magic with ceo in June of 2010, and released his second full-length album Wonderland in the United States on February 4th, 2014. The album features his hit “Whorehouse,” an electic track that combines electronic beats, screams, and ’80s pop style vocals. The song reminds one of being in a hallucination and has a sense of satire with the upbeat music and lyrics about a taboo subject. Fans of Passion Pit and Little Majorette should check out ceo!
