ON RADAR: Bad Suns

Originally from Southern California, Bad Suns came together in the year of 2012. The band consists of members, Christo Bowman (vocalist), Gavin Bennett (bassist), Miles Morris (drummer) and Ray Libby (guitarist). They are known as a band that performs music beyond their years, this is due to the heavy 70s and 80s rock they grew up listening to and that inspired their musical style. Throughout 2013 the band has performed at many CMJ showcases as well as opening for acts like The Vaccines and The 1975.They have been working on their debut full-length album Transpose, and plan on releasing it in early 2014. Their featured track “Cardiac Arrest” is featured on the upcoming album. The song has a catchy light indie rock feel and vocals that resemble bands like The Kooks and Imagine Dragons. The song itself is about the energy and struggle one feels when they are with a significant other. We hear this in lyrics,”I’ll try my best, like cardiac arrest, have voltage in her lips.” The single “Cardiac Arrest” is currently available for streaming on iTunes and Spotify.
