This is the first time Riot Fest has hit the Mile High City and from what we saw yesterday, we can only hope that Riot Fest will continue to find a 2nd home in Denver, Colorado.
Crowds drifted in as things got off to a slow start on Day #1, which is a shame for anyone who missed the first few bands. Bosnian Rainbows and Touche Amore started off the day with a bang, both delivering show-stopping performances as the day had barely even started. The Dismemberment Plan and Minus the Bear kept the afternoon rolling as the crowds started pouring in in anticipation of the nights headliners. By the time Against Me! played the searing heat had subsided enough for the crowd to out in full force to support their favorite bands. There really are no words to describe Brand New and AFI’s sets, other than they have to be witnessed to understand the full scope of how epic these bands are. Headliners Iggy and The Stooges and The Replacements closed out the night with a bang, proving that they only get better with time.
We are headed out for Riot Fest Day 2! Keep your eye peeled for photos and review of Day 2 tomorrow.
