After a long 17 year hiatus, Mazzy Star has announced they will release their fourth studio album, Seasons of Your Day, on September 24, 2013. The band has also released the track, “California”. The announcement follows up many rumors of a new album after the band started to perform together again in 2011, including Coachella 2012.
Seasons Of Your Day will feature all of the band’s original members along with guest appearances by Colm Ó Cíosóig from My Bloody Valentine, and folk icon Bert Jansch. The band will hit the road for a slew of North American and European tour dates in the fall. Known for their most popular and highest charting track, “Fade Into You,” the band has sporadically made appearances since the 90s, whereas lead singer, Hope Sandoval, has remained active performing in another band, Hope Sandval and the Warm Inventions, and also as a solo artist having recently collaborated with artists including the Massive Attack, Chemical Brothers, Air and the Jesus and Mary Chain.
