Vancouver, Canada indie rock band Said the Whale started back in 2007 by original band members Ben Worcester (vocals, guitar) and Tyler Bancroft (vocals, guitar). The band released their debut EP Taking Abalonia in 2007 and re-released the EP in Canada one year later with seven new songs and as a full LP called Howe Sounds/Taking Abalonia. In 2009 they released their EP The Magician shortly before releasing their debut full length album Islands Disappear, which released October of that year.
In 2010 the band placed 2nd in CKPK-FM’s 2010 Peak Project and won $75,000, followed by their 2011 win of the Juno Award for New Group of the Year. Their latest EP I Love You released last month and is a sampler of 3 songs that will be on their next album releasing this upcoming Fall. Their track “I Love You” on the EP is a cute and catchy hard rocking guitar infused song, that makes you want to dance around your bedroom playing air guitar or go on a road trip with friends! Fans of light hearted summer pop rock (think Rock N’ Roll meets The Beach Boys) will love Said the Whale!
