My Chemical Romance has announced they have called it quits. In a short statement on its website, the band reflected on their success, thanked the fans for their support and ended it simply by stating, “And now, like all great things, it has come time for it to end. Thanks for all of your support, and for being part of the adventure.” The band’s last album, Danger Days, was released in 2010 and had been working on their fifth album, Conventional Weapons.
In 2010, My Chemical Romance experienced turmoil when they parted ways with their drummer, Bob Bryar, without much reason provided and invited Michael Pedicone to join as a touring drummer. However, Pedicone was fired from My Chemical Romance in less than a year, when band members accused him for allegedly stealing from the band. Guitarist, Frank Iero stated, “he was caught red handed stealing from the band and confessed to police after our show last night in Auburn, Washington.”
Projects involving the band members have been sparse, with lead singer, Gerard Way having previously teamed up with deadmau5 last year for the single, “Professional Griefers”. Meanwhile, bassist, Mikey Way, made news in January for his extramarital affair with a 19 year-old when photos surfaced of the couple together on social media.
