Paramore has announced the details for their upcoming North American tour, in support of their forthcoming self-titled album, due in stores and online on April 9th. The Grammy-nominated band will hit the road this spring, stopping at New York City’s Hammerstein Ballroom on May 16th. Joining them as the opening act will be LA-based, alt-rock group Kitten, who has already garnered critical acclaim for their “Cut It Out” EP as well as their dynamic live show, and are currently finishing up their full length debut for Elektra Records.
Pre-sale tickets will be available by invitation-only to members of Paramore’s Fan Club and Singles Club, beginning January 28th at 5pm EST, with all remaining tickets then offered to the general public on February 1st at 10AM. Additional dates will be announced shortly.
Meanwhile, the band will play a series of shows in Southeast Asia and Australia, including a leading role on the latter’s annual Soundwave festival tour.
The band had unveiled album details late last year via a personal blog announcement. “The whole making of this album was a rediscovering of ourselves as a band and as friends,” they wrote. “It was a process that allowed us the freedom to explore new territory artistically and to liberate ourselves as musicians, singers, as people! Sincerely, we feel that the best way to give it a name is just to call it what it is. This album is us.”
