Los Angeles rock band, Kitten, is primed for a successful 2013, having opened for No Doubt, Young the Giant, performed at SXSW and released their debut EP “Cut It Out”as the title track has been gaining momentum since its release in 2012. The quartet lead by 17 year old vocalist and writer Chloe Chaidez, seemed destined to be involved in music somehow, as her father is drummer Mike Chaidez of the now defunct East L.A. punk band, Thee Undertakers. Chaidez sites early influences from the Go-Go’s, Siouxsie and the Banshees, The Motels and other female musicians. Prior to Kitten, Chaidez led the all-teen cover band, Wild Youth(a nod to the song by Generation X).
Their live shows have been noted for the high energy and passion for the music. Their full-length album is highly anticipated and due in mid-2013. Kitten is On-Radar here at B-Sides and we look forward to hearing more of them in 2013!
