Mako made a splash with their track “Beam” in 2013, garnering much recognition and acclaim. The electronic producers toured extensively and worked with numerous established artists including Avicii, Steve Angello, Sander Van Doom and many others. The duo consisting of singer/songwriter Alex Seaver and producer/songwriter Logan Light came together from nearly opposite directions where Seaver attended The Juilliard School on a full scholarship and played with some of the world’s elite classical artists. Whereas, Light had beginnings in the DJ world, having opened for the likes of Tiesto and Avicii. Hourglass is the duo’s debut album and showcases their musical chops as the material stretches the electronic realm, as Seaver described, “It’s much more of an emphasis on songwriting from a place of storytelling and experience and less about power of production underneath. In that sense it definitely feels a little risky since it might not come across as ‘obvious’ as some of our past records. Hoping this one can paint a visual world for our audience in a way that they might not normally experience.”
