While most people on instant messenger gossip about who’s hooking up with who and how they can’t wait for work to end, The Limousines’ singer Eric Victorino and Giovanni Giusti (AKA Nozebleed) were scheming and plotting to get in your ears. During the summer of 2006, Eric was in England recording an album with his band Strata and back home in the SF Bay Area, Giovanni was working on beats and putting them up online for the world to judge. Eric fell for Gio’s beats hard and fast, got in touch and soon enough, they had a story filled with emoticons, to tell for “What I did this summer” for show and tell.
Eric eventually returned to the States to meet Giovanni in person (at a public place, of course!) and the Limousines were born. Performing small shows and working laboriously in the studio eventually paid off, as the band has recently signed with Universal Republic to release their debut album. What’s the moral of the story? The internet is good for more than just porn and getting directions. Use it wisely.
