PHOTO REVIEW: Outside Lands 2016 Day Two

halsey - OSL16Many attendees we’re hoping for warmer weather on the second day of Outside Lands but the fog never burned off. The skies were overcast throughout the entire day and winds picked up throughout the night but most attendees of Outside Lands we’re prepared.  Nothing was going to stop them from having the time of their lives while their favorite performers took the stage, starting with The Knocks and The Wombats and ending with Zedd and Radiohead.

There were surprise guests during the second day as the rumored collaboration of hip-hop legends Warren G. and E-40 popped up late in the afternoon.  The performance marked the first time that they performed their track “Saturday” together live on stage.  The Knocks got the crowd moving early and brought out guests St. Lucia, who performed the day before and the indie-pop duo, Powers.

Years and Years brought their catchy 90s-tinged electro-pop to the main stage mid-afternoon and the party kept getting better with an impressive set by Los Angeles-based DJ/producer Jauz.  Halsey continues to demonstrate her ability to command an audience as her outstanding set drew an overflowing crowd who danced and sang along to nearly every one of her songs.  Simultaneously, Sufjan Stevens impressed a good-sized crowd with a stage presence reminiscent of Wayne Coyne of The Flaming Lips.

The young energetic crowd dancing and singing in unison to the strong set by Zedd in comparison to the immersive set by Radiohead was clear that there was no worry of scheduling conflict for either fanbases.
