Passion Pit Cancels Gigs Due to Mental Health Issues

Passion Pit has announced the need to cancelled a handful of of upcoming shows. The band has cancelled all dates for the next 7 days, starting with tonight’s show in Nashville all the way up to their scheduled gig at New York’s Apollo Theatre on July 23rd. The tour is slated to resume on August 2 at Chicago’s House of Blues.

Taking to their website, the band’s mastermind, Michael Angelakos, stated, I am going to take the time to work on improving my mental health.” The band’s sophomore release, Gossamer, is due to be released next week and was described to NME as a “more expansive collection of songs than Manners”.

Hello all,

On behalf of the band and myself, I would like to greatly apologize for the show cancelations. In order for me to ensure that there will be no further disruptions, I am going to take the time to work on improving my mental health. For now, I’d like to thank all of our fans for their understanding. I hope to see all of you very soon in a much different light.
