Bloc Party To Release Four In August

Bloc Party has released a video trailer with highlights from their forthcoming album, which will be titled Four. The band has been on hiatus since completing their 2009 tour in support of their last album, Intimacy. During the interim, lead singer Kele Okereke embarked on a successful solo career and at one point, his future with the band was unknown. Rumors circulated that the rest of the band was auditioning new singers to carry on with the band. With the announcement of the album details of Four, Okereke posted details about the new material and acknowledged the difficulties during the process and dismissed the stories as a lie that “got out of hand.” “I am very proud of it.” states Okereke, “There have been babies, breakdowns, tantrums and hospitalisations but its finally here. we started making this record in NY in the winter of 2011. we didn’t want to let the world know so we told a lie that got out of hand but it made us laugh in the process, which brought us closer together.” Four will be released on August 20 and has been produced by Alex Newport(Death Cab For Cutie/The Mars Volta).
