Brandon Flowers of The Killers has announced that the new Killers album will be called, “Battle Born”. After taking a long hiatus since the release of “Day & Age”, various members of the band have been working on other projects. Flowers, himself, going solo shortly after the release of the last Killers album, drummer Ronnie Vanucci formed Big Talk with former Weezer bassist Matt Sharp, and bassist Mark Stoermer teamed up with Dominic Howard from Muse, to form Vicky Cryer. Although the most of the band members wanted to take time off from the band after non-stop recording and touring, Flowers continued on as a solo artist and writing new material. Some tracks already confirmed include, “Flesh and Bone”, “Heart Of A Girl”, “Runaways” and “Carry Me Home”.
According to Flowers, “Battle Born” is both the name of the band’s own studio and a nickname for their home state of Nevada, stating to Rolling Stone, “in a sense, all Americans are battle born. Our ancestors came here for something better.”
“Battle Born” is slated to be released in the fall of 2012.
