After a four year hiatus, Jack Garratt released two EPs this year, as much of the material will be featured on his forthcoming full-length release, ‘Love, Death & Dancing’ that will be out June 12th via Island Records. The album is inspired by Garratt’s experience dealing with the feelings of self-doubt, anxiety and depression that affected him during his early success from his debut album, ‘Phase.’ “The album was written from the point of view of someone who has a functioning sadness,” Garratt stated, “who has had his day-to-day depressions and anxieties that have influenced the decisions he’s made. The album is about that functionality, that day-to-day battle, conversation, tug of war.” Sonically, Garratt describes the album as “dance music for people who don’t want to go out.” Ahead of the album release, Garratt has released some of the material via the EPs ‘Love, Death & Dancing’ volumes 1 & 2.
